Being 5ft1 or 155cm (small) and fiercely independent (mighty) gives me the inspiration for my blog name.
I spend as much time as I possibly can travelling and exploring new places with friends, alone, or with people I’ve met on the way. My reckless behaviour often makes for a great story and I’d like to share those stories with you.
Travelling is a huge part of my lifestyle and I always have my next destination in mind. The classic quote “I haven’t been everywhere but it’s on my list” (Susan Sontag) rings true for me. I started travelling by myself in 2009 when I went to Tanzania. I fell in love with the place, caught the “travel bug” and have never looked back.
Diaries are a great way to create memories of a trip, as you can write your thoughts and feelings at the time and stick in things like tickets or beer labels. I often keep diaries when I travel with an image in my mind of my old future self reading and reminiscing, so I have been using them to help me blog to ensure that the details are correct from my perspective.
In each blog I have tried to put in useful information such as recommendations for places to stay (only if I would stay there again!) and product information.
If you’d like to get in touch because you want to recreate one of my experiences or just want some tips and pointers, I’d be happy to help in whatever way that I can.
